Global Positioning System (GPS) is owned by the United States of America. It is used to transmit the geolocation and time information to the user as long as the user is in the range of satellite network without any obstruction such as tall buildings and mountains.
For hikers who are lost in the woods, a GPS would help them find their way back to the right trail they should be on. It allows the hikers to pinpoint the exact location they are at and can navigate the surrounding or nearby trails. GPS will also guide them away from time-consuming trail. Hikers usually go on hikes with a GPS device which acts as a digital map for them. Depending on the device, one can share the location with another device.
