However, the concept of meritocracy have evolved with time, for example, it now refers to an organization where currently the top most people and ideas exist. In workplace culture, meritocracy allows everyone the the right to express their opinion and where these opinions are listened and the decision is made over that deemed the best, however, it is important to note that it is not similar to democracy because in meritocracy there is no decision on the basis of consensus and not everyone has the right to vote, so, here while everyone has the voice but only some are listened more than the others.
