After WWll all of these displaced Jewish people needed a new home, so the nation of Israel was created. This caused and still caused a lot of trouble because the United Nations basically said okay Palestine we're gonna take some of your land and give it to the Jews and this did not sit well with Palestinians. Multiple wars and conflicts came up do to this change.
