There are many fairytale that tells about fisherman. One of them is
"The Story of the Fisherman". It is a fairytale from the collection of the Brothers Grimm and it narrates the story of a poor fisherman who fishes a magic flounder. After he tells his wife back home in their poor shack, she starts to demand that he goes and asks for things from the flounder, given that he owes him his life. The flounder does as the man asks in the name of his wife, and from getting a cottage, she then decides she wants to get more and more, till she asks to become like God himself. After request, she simply loses everything and goes back to what she was in the beginning.

Since the 19th century it has been possible to use larger vessels and in some cases process the fish on board. Fish are normally caught in the wild. Catching fish techniques are hand gathering, spearing, netting, angling and trapping. There are many fairy tale that tells about fisherman.
