Hi!
Before women were more accepted into society as equals to men, they were only expected to work at home cleaning, cooking, and tending to their children. When World War I came around, many men went off to fight in the army. They left their jobs, too, so women had to step up and start taking the places men had before the war. That sort of "proved their worth," showed they could take on more responsibility, and was one of the major motivations for women to start fighting for equality later on.
I hoped this helped! Please rate, thank, and pick the Brainliest answer (not necessarily mine!). Thanks, it really helps! :)
