If we cut a rectangle in half,

Then new rectangles = 1×2 = 2

If we again cut a rectangle in half

Then new rectangles = 2×2 = 4

The number of rectangles are 4

Again repeat the process in opposite direction

When we cut the rectangle for first half

Then the number of rectangles = 4×2 = 8

If we again cut the rectangle

Then the number of rectangles = 8×2 = 16

Hence, the total number of brownies are 16.
