I need an explanation of how to solve an equation after I've used the Law of Sines

(sin 31)/x = (sine 125)/14

I cross multiplied and isolated my variable

14(sine 31) / sine 125 =x

but I don't know my next step, or if I"m right so far

I believe you are correct. All you have to do now is punch that into your calculator and see what u get for x

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

So far, so good.

you need the sine of 31 which is sin(31) = 0.5150

You also need the sin of 125 which is sin(125) = 0.8192

Make sure you are in degrees. Calculators are funny things.. They're fast but they're awfully stupid. So don't try and fool it. They have no sense of humor.

Sin31 is easily put in

sin

31

=

and it should come up with 0.5150 (rounded)

Sin 125 is actually done exactly the same way.

sin

125

=

0.8192

Now just put those numbers in for what you have.

14*0.5150/0.8192 = 8.8024

That's your answer. You came very close without any help from anyone.
