THE DANGER OF A SINGLE STORY
by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie 2009

How did Adichie allow a single story to construct her understanding of other people?

Respuesta :

She used her story to show people that just because you're right doesn't mean i'm wrong, She shows people that there are multiple perspectives to different things that happen in our everyday lives.

In this speech, we learn of the idea of a "single story." This refers to a story that is accepted by all as reality, with little room for modification. Adichie is initially impacted by the single story, and this makes her unable to think of books as something not necessarily belonging to Western culture. However, with time, she learns to create her own story, and provide alternatives to the single story.
