To Kill a Mockingbird is a story about the idea of innocence, and several characters portray that idea (Boo Radley is one of those)
Harper Lee uses Miss Maudie to disclose remote information about the characters' background, when Miss Maudie says something about them, she provides us a new perspective from each character's past, which is a clear use of "Flashback" as a literary tactic.
Like when in chapter five Miss Maudie disproves rumors about Boo, especially those myths the children believe.
