The communication system developed in the Inca Empire was mainly oral, or by means of a series of knotted ropes or threads, referred to as Quipu. There were special members on a community who were capable of making and reading Quipu. Messages among members of the Empire were sent via chasqui, a trained member of the community who served as a mailman delivering oral messages within the Inca.
The communication system in Egypt is more complex than that of the Incas. They had developed a system of characters referred to as hieroglyphs, which together with images and the use of color, served the Egyptians to convey meaning in written messages. Pidgeons carrying written messages were used as a means to deliver messages, as they were much faster than humans.
