Which of the following could be intervals on the same frequency table?
A. [tex]0-5[/tex] and [tex]5-10[/tex]
B. [tex]1-5[/tex] and [tex]6-10[/tex]
C. [tex]0-5[/tex] and [tex]6-10[/tex]

Respuesta :

Only B could be an interval of the same frequency table.

Here's why:  1 - 5 is equivalent to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (5 digits), and 6 - 10 is eq. to 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 (5 digits).  The interval widths must be the same for all subintervals.

Note that 0-5 contains 6 (not 5) members.

Eliminate A because the endpoint 5 shows up twice.  This is not allowed.
