The correct answer is (D) Secondary consumers receive less energy from the food chain than primary consumers.

As per the law of energy distribution in food chain, as we move up  from producers to decomposer. The 10% energy loss takes place. Maximum energy is present in producers and and then at each trophic level 10% energy is loss. This the reason that secondary consumers receive less energy as compared to primary consumers.
