Hi!

Let's find the square root of 9/36.

First, find the square root of 9.

To do that, factorize it.

9/3 = 3

3/3 = 1

3 * 3 = 9

The square root of 9 is 3.

Now find the square root of 36.

36/2 = 18

18/2 = 9

9/3 = 3

3/3 = 1

2 * 2 * 3 * 3 = 36

You could also write this as...

2 * 3 * 2 * 3 = 36

Solve part of it and you get...

6 * 6 = 36

The square root of 36 is 6.

The answer is 3/6, but simplified it's 1/2.

Hope this helps! :)

[tex] \sqrt{\dfrac{9}{36}}=\dfrac{\sqrt9}{\sqrt{36}}=\dfrac{\sqrt{3^2}}{\sqrt{6^2}}=\dfrac{3}{6}=\dfrac{3:3}{6:3}=\dfrac{1}{2}\\\\\text{Used:}\\\\\sqrt{\dfrac{a}{b}}=\dfrac{\sqrt{a}}{\sqrt{b}}\\\\\sqrt{a^2}=a [/tex]

[tex] \text{Other method}\\\\\text{simplify}\ \dfrac{9}{36}=\dfrac{9:9}{36:9}=\dfrac{1}{4}\\\\\sqrt{\dfrac{9}{36}}=\sqrt{\dfrac{1}{4}}=\dfrac{\sqrt1}{\sqrt4}=\dfrac{1}{2} [/tex]
