In adults, you would call 911 before starting CPR, whereas with children you start first. Also, when providing rescue breaths, it is important that you are more gentle with small children, as being aggressive can block the airway further. Finally, if you are doing compressions on an adult, you would use two hands and the depth of your compressions should be 2 inches, whereas with small children, you would use 1-2 hands and the depth should be 1 1/2 inches.
