Lisa comes home from a long hard day and prepares dinner for her 2 teenaged children and her husband. The children are at the table and then leave almost before she sits down. Her husband is often late - so Lisa sits and eats mostly alone. She is tired, and she resents that she has done the work to get the dinner on the table after work, and no one is there to join her for more than 2-3 minutes. Lisa eats but does not enjoy it. Later in the evening, craving some enjoyment from food, Lisa gets out the treats; she takes a container or two and sits in front of the TV, feeling that she can relax for the first time all day. Lisa eats until she feels better. By the time she stops, she will have eaten a bag of chips or much of a carton of ice cream, or some of both.
