The US Justice Department said in a report that law enforcement's response to the 2022 mass shooting at Yuval de Robb Elementary School in Texas was a "failure."
On May 24, 2022, a shooting at Robb Elementary School in Yuvaldi, Texas, left 19 students and two teachers dead. Questions have been raised about the police's handling of the shooting. Video of the shooting showed law enforcement officers on the scene were slow to respond. Steven McCraw, director of the Texas Department of Public Safety, said nearly 20 police officers stood in the hallway outside the classroom for more than 45 minutes during the shooting. Following the incident, at the request of Mayor Yuvaldi, a "major incident review" was launched in late May 2022.
