The bluebird outside my window
talks to me in melodies and trills,
interrupts my sleep like an alarm clock blaring "Wake up!"
My annoying morning friend.
The bound paper on the shelf
whispers stories of characters and conflicts,
mesmerizes like a fairy with pixie dust.
My distracting afternoon friend.
The radio on the nightstand
Is a fountain of rhymes and rhythms,
lullabies like a mother rock
