Catherine, the CEO of a small company, gave authority over an important project to Alonzo, one of the department managers. However, the
other employees working on the project do not seem to recognize Alonzo's authority. Because Catherine is their supervisor, employees feel
that they should answer to her instead of Alonzo. When they have questions or concerns, they ask Catherine instead of him. Alonzo often find
out that significant changes have been made to the project without his knowledge or consent. Alonzo does not want to go against his boss.
However, he knows that, according to the chain of command, he is the one in charge of the project and should have the authority to make
decisions. What should Alonzo do? Should he confront Catherine and ask her to reinforce his authority, or should he allow employees to
continue treating her as the authority for the project?
