The school decided to hold a bake sale to raise money for flood victims in eastern Kentucky.. Six students decided to make and bring food for the bake sale. Alva and Denise made brownies, Barnie and Edward made chocolate chip cookies, and Carlos and Flint made Rice Krispie treats. Alva, Barnie, and Carlos (ABC) followed the recipes closely. Denise, Edward, and Flint (DEF) knew what the ingredients were and threw them together. The first week Alva and Denise each made $43, Barnie and Edward each made $25, and Carlos and Flint each made $62. The second week the students made the same treats. Alva made $65 and Denise made $21. Barnie made $40 to Edwards $10, and Carlos and Flint had $90 and $32 respectively. The third week of the sale Alva made $75, Denise $11, Barnie $45, Edward $5, Carlos $102, Flint $20. Realizing that they were not doing well after 3 weeks, the DEF group switched cooking methods and started following the directions. The fourth week Alva $86, Denise $5, Barnie $49, Edward $1, Carlos $122, Flint $10. The fifth week no changes were made to cooking methods and Alva made $70, Denise made $21, Barnie made $35, Edward $15, Carlos $80, Flint $42. The sixth week the sales were the same as the first week.
1. Graphically display a comparison between the profits of brownies, cookies, and rice krispie treats.
2. Graphically compare the total amount made by each student.
3. Create a line graph showing group ABC's weekly profit and a graph showing DEF's weekly profit.
4. Hypothesize (explain) the reason why the profits changed the way they did.
5. Propose an experiment that could be done to provide more data to support your hypothesis.
